TNG frequently expiring

Postby azola_sofi » Thu Nov 29, 2012 11:44 am

Hi

I have this issue where tng expires frequently. I have tried updating it to the latest version but when I start TNg up again it take long to start up and pushes the processor load to 100%. But still does not start up. Is it better to repmove TNG complitly and start a new fresh istallation or is there a way to sort this issue?

It seems hat you are currently experiencing two different issues on TNG.

1. TNG expires frequently,
2. High CPU usage when starting the TNG service.

Please do not uninstall the TNG software - as this will cause licensing error on the software. When re-installing TNG, you will have 30 days evaluation period (on asterisk versions) and the software must then be re-registered.

Before addressing the expiry issue, we have to check the CPU usage on the TNG PC. Please start up the TNG service and check if you are able to log into the software?

Could you please attached the tng.log for us to further investigate?

Hi

Can We look at the consitant tng Expiring first. This is the more serious issue here. The High CPU usage is something that can be dealt with at a later stage.

Please take a screenshot of the expiry message on TNG and attach it to this post.

Also include the tng.log for further investigstion.

Re: TNG frequently expiring

Postby Odette Danster » Tue Dec 18, 2012 12:04 pm

The screenshot shows that the TNG expired due to 'evaluation period'. You will only get this error messages if the 30 day evaluation period has expired.

This will happen if the dates of your call details are 30 days over the install period. In other words if you install (or re-install) TNG and not license it, it will expire after 30 days. NOTE: If you re-install TNG you need to register it again (manual process), else it will expire after 30 days.

If you re-install TNG from time to time, it wil seem like it frequently expires. Please do not re-install, unless instructed by us.

To fix you TNG, you will need to re-register it. Since it was re-installed, it will be a manual process. Please follow our steps:

  • Stop/Start the TNG deamon.
  • Go to the License Manager page and do step 1 to create the 'registertng.txt' file.
  • Rar the 'registertng.txt' file and attached to the post (we need to instruct the licensing side complete the re-registeration process manually)
  • Once the file has been received from the licensing side, we will attach it to this post with further instructions. While waiting please do not restart the TNG for Asterisk server or sevice(daemon).

Hi Odette

Please note. The TNG is not on a trial basis. it is a paid for full one year licences. Unless we recieved a trial licence? :? This is an on going issue. We were told to save the licence update tng to the lates available one then reply for a licence. This was done done as you had instructed. The problem still persists.

We need to get the TNG working now based on current messages. Please do not confuse it with the history of this site. We want to help you resolve this permanently.

Please follow the steps as per above.

We are waiting on you for the following:
  • tng.log for the day on which you followed our steps
  • registertng.txt file that was created using our steps
You need to rar the files to attached it to the post(use the 'upload attachment tab, etc.)

Please note our office will be closed until 2 January 2013 and only skeleton staff will be on duty.

You need to send us the TNG registration file this week(ending 21 December 2012). We will then have access to the staff to do the manual re-registration for you, else you need to wait until the new year.

We tried phoning your office regarding remote access to this client, but no answer. NOTE: the other branch has been upgraded and activated, you can check it.

You will need to upgrade the TNG for Asterisk to TNGLive (new licensing process). This is the new TNG for Asterisk. For update steps and download link, please see forum post TNG 4* update 2012.

If you are not setup as a dealer for TNGLive yet, you will need to contact our Sales on Monday. Please note the staff will only be available Monday morning.
