Re: TNG not costing

Postby Belinda Frick » Tue Dec 03, 2013 12:45 pm

I am using TNG 1.1.1.11(2. Update for TNGLive Windows with buffer to Version 1.1.1.11 (South Africa))
and za_centracomA as default ratebook.

The 1.1.1.11 install does not include the CentraCom rates, I ran the 1.1.8.3 update(Where do I find the CentraCom ratebook/rates update?) and then the 1.1.1.11 update.

Area information is configured as follows:
Code: Select all
localnumber=0871503303
localcode=087
countrycode=27
internationalaccesscode=00

The reason why the rates show zero cost is because rates is configured for Zone A and B,
Code: Select all
CountryCode=27
Version=2013.12.03.01
Zone|Schedule|BillType   |Min1      |Max1      |1Cost1    |1Secs1 |1Cost2    |1Secs2 |1Cost3    |1Secs3 |1Cost4    |1Secs4 |Min2      |Max2      |2Cost1    |2Secs1 |2Cost2    |2Secs2 |2Cost3    |2Secs3 |2Cost3    |2Secs3 |Min3      |Max3      |3Cost1    |3Secs1 |3Cost2    |3Secs2 |3Cost3    |3Secs3 |3Cost4    |3Secs4 |

but when you do a Test Cost Calculation the Zone column is blank:
TNG-Custom_rate-Centra_com.jpg

I am investigating further.

Steps to follow:

  1. If you only use CentraCom rates at the client log into TNG and under 'Trunk Configuration' select 'Centracom' as your default ratebook, else use the appropriate provider.

    You need to add the ratebook per trunk number

    TNG-trunk-configuration.PNG

    In this example ZA TELKOM is the default ratebook and only trunk 1 cost at custom rate book 'ALL_CUSTOM'.

  2. Configure your 'Area Information' under 'Communication Configuration' section as follows:

    Local Number : 0871503303
    Local Code : 087
    Country Code : 27
    International Access Code : 00
    GMT Time Offset : 2

  3. Please upgrade to TNG version 1.1.1.12.

    You subscription must be up to date, refer to forum post: TNG Update 1.1.1.12 and download the update file 'tng-zarates-update-1_1_1_12.zip'. Unzip and run .dtx file to upgrade.

  4. If you log into TNG and go to 'Trunk Configuration' and click on the 'Ratebook' drop-down, you will see the 'all_simple_custom' ratebook option. You now need to use this to configure your custom ratebook. Log out of TNG and stop the TNG service.

    How do I stop/start the TNG service in Windows?

  5. Go to the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng\rates'.

  6. Make a copy of the 'all_simple_custom.dll' and rename it to your custom ratebook name, for example 'za_centracom_test.dll'.

  7. Create a second file and name it, for this example 'za_centracom_test.ini'.

  8. Paste the following into the 'za_centracom_test.ini' file:

    Code: Select all
    ;code=S,Cost PerSec,MinCost,RateType,Desc

    RATE=za_telkom.dll
    271=S, 0.007333, 0, N, TELKOM

    These entries contains all the known local, national and cellular prefixes. It can be used as a template.

    The entry 'RATE=za_telkom.dll' means that it is the default ratebook. Call for all prefixes not specified in the file will default to the 'za_telkom' rate. You can change this if you have a different service provider.

    I already configured it with your costing. I assumed it was excludig VAT of 14% and per second billing. TNG will add the VAT to the costing. If it was including VAT, you will have to calculate it without VAT.

    If you have any additional prefixes, you will need to add them. For more details on the simple custom all ratebook feature refer to forum post:
    TNG - Simple Custom Rate

    Save the changes to the file - if any made.

  9. Start the TNG service.

  10. Log into TNG.
    It might take longer than usual to startup, because it is creating the new exchange file.

  11. Make a test Call Cost Calculation to check your rates.

  12. If happy with the rates, you can try a 'Data Synchronization' for the required period.
    Refer to forum post: How do I synchronize TNG data?
