The last TNG rates update for Botswana is available in the forum post:
Botswana: Latest version of TNG as of 2013-08-20

NOTE: This is only for TNG Windows with buffer and TNG for Asterisk.

With TNG 1.0.7.0 if you want to change the costing for a zone, please refer to forum post:
TNG Custom Rate Configuration and Format

TNG 1.1.1.12 is now available for Botswana.

The following changes has been made:
  • Recompiled the rates and Exchange files with the TNG 1.1 Licenses units.
  • Changed all the Cellular Codes to "M" since there is only one rate from BTC now.
  • Added the missing Cellular codes to the BTC rates.
  • Added the missing VOIP codes to the BTC rates using rate code "IP".
  • Fixed the BuildExchange function that was not using the proper country code value.

Steps to upgrade:

NOTE: You need to install TNG 1.1.1.12 and then import your rawdata files for historic data(these files will only be available if you had logging of rawdata enabled) , you cannot copy the database file from 1.0.7.0 to 1.1+ version.

  1. Stop the TNG service.
  2. Once stopped, make a backup of the TNG folder.
  3. Once backup complete, start the TNG service.

  4. Uninstall TNG with the 'unins000.exe' program located in 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\TNG'.
  5. Delete the TNG folder.

  6. Run the TNG install file.
To find the TNG install refer to 'Install files' section in forum post: TNG Update 1.1.1.12
NOTE: Use the 'TNG_setup_1_1_1_12.exe' under the heading 'For Windows'.

You will now have a blank new TNG.

  7. Once the install is complete check that your calls are loading.

If you need the extension or user configuration from the 1.0.7.0 TNG, you need to stop the TNG service and copy the files from the backup in the 'data' folder:
    tngext.dat
    tngdept.dat
    tngusers.dat
Once the copy is complete, start the TNG service again.

If you require historic call data, you need to import raw data files (these files will only be available if you had logging of rawdata enabled) - refer to forum post: How do I import rawdata into TNG?
Conclude:

TNG 1.1.1.12 has the latest rates update for Botswana.

It also has additional custom rates features, for more details see forum post: TNG Rates and configuring custom rates - you can refer to option 3 to add your own prefix list with costing per prefix.

When I use the call cost calculator to determine the rate for certain calls, the bw_mascom(M3) ratebook is unable to determine the Zone for any local calls (748, 749,753 etc). It sets the Zone to "NOT" and doesn't give any value. it does the same thing for (M) bw_btc (768, 758, 790).

As per telephone conversation on 2014-06-09, to I need to duplicate the zero costing for the '7' numbers in my test TNG. To setup the simulation, I will require the following:

  1. The 'tng.ini' file found in the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng'
  2. Please provide the cellular prefixes for the '7' numbers not costing and examples of numbers so that I can test it.
  3. A raw.txt file from the client. This file will only be available if you set rawdata to be logged - refer first step in the forum post: How do I import rawdata into TNG?

Hi Belindah,

I am having a problem with a TNG running on windows 8.1 where calls (for 267 77...) are not being charged correctly (or NO Cost at all). See the attached file ...I updated to version 1.1.1.12 to attempt to fix the issue but it still did not fix the problem.

see the attached sample (SCREENSHOT) of 77 numbers that does not cost
and here are some of the numbers: 267 77663097 for testing

i have also attached the tng.ini file as you request.

i have also attached the raw.txt file from the client as request.

Regards

I installed a TNG Botswana 1.1.1.12 and it does not cost 77 numbers.

Current work-a-round is to setup a custom rate book.

Please see forum post to setup the custom rate book:
TNG - Simple Custom Rate

Your custom ratebook's ini file only need the following entry:
Code: Select all
RATE=bw_btc.dll
2677=S, 0.04, 0.20, M, Mobile,

NOTE: The costing in ini is jus an example, you must replace it with the correct cost.

If you have any other prefixes that does not cost, please add to list.

Hi Belindah,

I am having a problem with a TNG running on windows 8.1 where calls (for 267 77, 74,75, toll free numbers and international numbers) are not being charged correctly (or NO Cost at all). See the attached file ...I updated to version 1.1.1.12 to attempt to fix the issue but it still did not fix the problem.

see the attached sample (SCREENSHOT) of 77 & 74 numbers that does not cost
and here are some of the numbers: 267 77663097 for testing

i have also attached the tng.ini file as you request.

i have also attached the raw.txt file from the client as request.

i have also attached all cellphone number list from BTC botswana, our numbers differ with the third digit from all service providers.. e.g orange 77 numbers are like that 774 and Mascom 77 numbers are like 771.. they differ with the third digit.

Regards
