TNG Install: Switchboard is toll free number

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:52 am

I am installing TNG.

My Switchboard number is Telkom toll free 0800 number.
What do I configure under area codes in TNG?

TNG needs the local code area to calculate if calls are local, national or international.
The toll free number can be used for any area.
You need to configure the correct area for costing and destination of calls in TNG.

  1. I suggest getting a DID number that has the local area code in the number and configure that number as the switchboard.
You can also use the telephone number of someone in the same area.

  2. Under trunk line configuration you then select the provider as default rate book, for example Telkom.

  3. For trouble shooting, please configure raw data to be logged:
How do I enable logging of rawdata?

  4. Make a test call and check on the Call List page if the call details are received and updating with correct DESTINATION and cost:

NOTE: The phone number must have the international format, fore example 27215924033
If no call details, check if the raw data has any call details. If not, first sort out this issue.
