Instead of typing in telephone number why can onyx not pick up the dialled number automatically on outgoing calls

ONYX is a standalone voice recorder. It taps the phone and records the conversation using the USB tap. It will always have the following call details for the recording made:

  • Date and time of call:
    This will be the PC's date and time.
  • Duration of call:
    The duration is calculated by the ONYX software.
  • Reference:
    The recording reference number.
To have call details in for example a Telephone Management System(TMS), the details is received from the PABX unit via for example a serial cable or network connection or input file. These call details is translated by the TMS in a format reports can be produced.

ONYX does not talk to the PABX unit, it records the conversation on the extension or analog line. There are no facility to receive call details from the PABX. Since ONXY is a standalone Voice Recorded, it is normally used with a single phone line and no PABX system is involved.
