Topaz Win7 64bit

Postby MasterPJ » Fri May 03, 2013 9:36 am

Good day All,

Im trying to link Topaz to a Windows 7 64bit laptop.

Topaz is currently running on our server (SBS2003). Working fine.

When linking Topaz to a Windows XP pc I get the following error: "An error occurred while attempting to initialize the Borland Database Engine (error $2108)
To fix this error is not a problem, I have a bnd self extracting file which fixes the problem(found it in the topaz install directory)

The problem I have is when trying to open Topaz on the Win 7 laptop, I get the same error (Borland) but cant run the bnd file as it is for 32bit.

Does anybody have a 64bit version or a fix for the problem

Much appreciated.

Are you trying to install a Client TOPAZ on the laptop to connect to your Master TOPAZ on the Windows XP?

Refer to forum post:
Installation of a client version of Topaz
Installation of a client version of TOPAZ (summarised)

The Client TOPAZ also requires BDE.

NOTE: TOPAZ cannot be installed on a 64-bit PC as the database engine we use - which is Borland - does not support this - refer to forum post: Can TOPAZ be installed on a Windows Vista 64bit processor?
