What is DTP?
Datatex TAPI interface for Panasonic. DTP is a TAPI application which retrieves
the SMDR/CLI data from the Panasonic range of PABXs for Topaz. It replaces the
PABX3 interface.

What are the requirements for DTP?
You need a PC to run DTP on, with a RS232 connection to the PABX. Ideally,
the PC should be as close to the PABX as possible. The Panasonic TSP software
must be installed and configured correctly.

What do we use the DTP for?
DTP provides SMDR/CLI data for Topaz. Using TAPI allows other TAPI
applications (e.g. Emerald) to communicate with the PABX at the same time,
something that would not be possible with the PABX3, or at least very difficult.

Other features include setting the Class of Service for extensions,
allowing Jade and Topaz to do barring of calls. It can also be configured
to send CLI information to Topaz for pop-ups, and calculate unanswered calls
and ring times on the Panasonic PABXs which don't have this functionality.
