- Network connection to PABX,
- Serial connection,
- FILE READER option
NOTE: TNG will only load call details if the TNG Buffer is detected.
If you have TNG Live (Free or Premium), then no buffer is required.
How does TNG connect to the PABX?
- TNG has a TCP connect to option. You require the PABX IP and port to configure this:
TNG HOME page, select the 'Settings' icon and login with the technical password. Do the configuration in the 'Communication Configuration' section.
NOTE: If you use a Mitel, do not tick the 'Keep Alive' option.
Change the 'Communication Mode' to 'Network'. You will then have the option to enter the 'PABX IP' and 'PABX port'.
- If a network connection to the PABX is used with TNG, then the buffer only serves as a dongle for licensing purposes. For TNG Live, no buffer is required.
- In TNG you will find the PABX IP and port that the lanbuffer must connect to, to collect call details from the PABX.
- You need to allocate an IP and port number to the lanbuffer.
- TNG will then use this IP and port to connect to the lanbuffer, which is simulating the PABX. Please enter these details under 'Communication Configuration' on the 'Settings' page - see screenshot above.
For TNG and TNG Live with a network connection to your PABX your call details is sent via the network connection, if the PC/network is down the only buffering of call details is done is by the PABX. Number of call details that is buffered is dependent on the PABX features. You can thus have missing call details after a power failure/network down/PC down, etc.
You may install a network buffer that connects to your PABX and then configure TNG to connect to your network buffer. The network buffer is then simulating the PABX. This is not part of the standard TNG install. Your IT side needs to purchase the hardware, configure and maintain it.
