Overview:
Number/Call Masking is used where the PABX returns an index value or speeddial number instead of the actual telephone number. Some PABX's returns a speeddial or index number instead of the real telephone number. The actual telephone number is then represented by the speeddial on the PABX unit.
When TNG receives this index/speeddial number, it will not be able to allocate the correct costing to it unless it has been setup under the 'Number Masking' page in TNG.
Log into TNG, in the middle section click on the 'Number Masking' Icon (3rd icon in second row):
In the example above, the number 555 is the speeddial number on the PABX for Datatex's office number. We set 555 to be replaced with 0215924033 which is the actual number. We then allocate a description in the 'Name' field, e.g. Datatex Office. This is also added automatically as a Phone Book entry.
TNG also supports the import of a Call Mask file. (See below screenshot)
