  • When this error occurs, please make sure that the TNG service is running.

    Go to: START - > CONTROL PANEL - > ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS - >SERVICES
Look for a service called TNG.
Right click on the service, and select 'Restart or Start',

  • If you are trying to connect to TNG from a client PC and not the server,
    please check the following:

    • Make sure that the you can ping the client PC from the TNG server and also
the server from the Client PC.
      • LAN: Use the Windows IP address for ping.
      • Broadband/internet dial-up connection: You need to ping the DNS IP address.
START -> RUN -> CMD, enter 'ipconfig/all'. Under the section 'PPP adapter followed
by the connection name, it will list the DNS IP Address for the PC. Use this IP
address for ping. This is the IP address needed to open the TNG page.

Contact the IT department for site setup and detecting of IP address to use for ping.
    • Make sure that port 7080 is available for TNG.
Also see: No TNG login page, cannot display page
Cannot display report pages - http 500 internal server error

    • Make sure that your Proxy Server settings in browser are disabled or that it is
      set to exclude TNG.
      Internet Explorer:
      • Open Internet Explorer.
      • Click on 'Tools' -> 'Internet Options' -> 'Connections -> 'LAN SETTINGS'.
      • At the bottom of this window, there is a section 'Proxy server settings'.
      • If you are NOT using a proxy server for your internet connection and the proxy is ticked as enabled, then untick it to disable the proxy server.
      • If you do use a proxy server, set it to exclude TNG.
      • Do this by clicking on 'ADVANCED' in the same window.
      • You will notice a section called 'EXCEPTIONS'.
      • In the white block type in the TNG address and port Eg.(//127.0.0.1:7080)
      • Click on 'OK'.

The proxy server will be used for all connections except TNG.
    • On the TNG server allow the TNG.exe
START -> CONTROL PANEL -> WINDOWS FIREWALL -> EXCEPTIONS, tick TNG and APPLY.
If TNG is not listed, use the browse option to add it.

If no EXCEPTIONS option, look for 'Allow a program'.
If tng is not listed, you will have to ADD PROGRAM.

Please find a detailed TNG installation and user’s guide in the help folder on your TNG CD.
