TNG: I changed my serial buffer to USB

Required:

- TNG - USB Data Buffer,
- Buffer software version 1.0.7 or newer

Overview:

When you install TNG, it will install it for either Serial or USB buffer. If you installed TNG with a serial buffer and you then change the buffer to USB, you will not have the USB drivers for the USB Data buffer.

NB: Firstly, please check if the TNG Host PC is running on a 32-bit or 64-bit OS. The 32-bit and the 64-bit drivers are available for download on the www.datatex.co.za website under the 'Downloads' section or search for the required driver within the "Search" section on Forums.

Steps:

- Once downloaded, Save the USBDrivers folder on the TNG PC,
- Connect the USB Data buffer to an available USB slot - A windows message will appear stating that new hardware was found,
- Select the option to search for the drivers and Browse to the location where you saved the USBDrivers folder to install it.
- Windows should now be detecting the USB buffer - Check under Device Manager,
- Start up the TNG service and once logged in, check if the buffer is detected.

If the buffer is not detected, a red flashing icon will appear next to the "Call List page",
- select the "View Buffer Info" option from the Home directory, Please wait - loading buffer info
- click on the "Find Buffer" link to enable the software to search for the buffer on the PC's ports.

Please note: If the wrong usbdrivers was installed and you plug in the buffer you will not be prompted to install it again. You need to delete/uninstall the incorrect drivers and install the correct usbdrivers.

START -> CONTROL PANEL -> SYSTEM -> DEVICE MANAGER -> UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS.

Right-click on the USB PORT that the USB BUFFER is connected to, select PROPERTIES and click on the DRIVERS tab and then on the UNINSTALL button.
