Overview:

I deleted entries from my phone book, but when I return to the phone book page they are still appearing.

The correct method to delete a phone book entry:
On the phone book page, find the entry and then click on the bin icon.
Click APPLY to execute all the deletes before you leave the page.

If the problem still occurs, it could be a browser issue(java scripting) or data corruption(TNG file).

  • Please note which browser and version you are using (for example Internet Explorer 6).
TNG was tested with Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla Firefox. You need have at least version:
      IE 6
      Firefox 1.5
  • On the browser page, check if any errors displayed. Depending on your browser it will display at a different place on the page - Internet Explorer(IE) is normally bottom lefthand side.

  • If popups are blocked, please enable.
IE: you will have a yellow bar with a click here option to allow popups.

  • Check in the TNG logs for any errors.
TNG Home page, click on View Logs icon and select todays date. The newest entries will be at the top of the page.

  • Upgrade TNG to the latest version - better logging of errors.
The TNG version is displayed in the bottom section of each page (blue section).

  • If data corruption, you will need to blank the phone book and re-import it:

The phone book entries is store in the 'destinations.txt' file in the 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng' folder on the TNG server.
    • Stop the TNG service: START -> CONTROL PANEL -> ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS -> SERVICES, click on TNG and then the stop link (top left hand side).
    • Once stopped, create a backup folder in the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\tng', for example todays date '20111121'.
    • Move the 'destinations.txt' file into that folder. There must be no 'destination.txt' file left in the tng folder.
    • Start the TNG service: START -> CONTROL PANEL -> ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS -> SERVICES, click on TNG and then the start link (top left hand side).
    • Once that start display is completed, log into TNG. Allow time to search for buffer.
If you go to Phone book no numbers will be listed.
    • To import all the phone numbers see forum post:
How do I automatically import the Phone book into TNG
