Buffer detected, no call details on my call list page

Postby Belinda Frick » Fri Feb 10, 2012 3:15 pm

My buffer is detected, but I have no call details on my call list page.

Please try the follwing:

  • First log into TNG and on the Home page click on 'View Buffer Info' to ensure TNG is detecting the buffer. If not, click on the find buffer link.

  • Once buffer detected, enable logging of rawdata in TNG. This will allow us to see what the buffer is receiving, even if TNG cannot interpret it. See forum post: How do I enable logging of rawdata?

  • If the buffer receives information from the PABX the TX and RX lights will flash. If TNG received call details it will be written to the raw.txt file. Please check if anything in this file.

  • If no data written, the check if the PABX is sending of call data.

You can plug the serial cable into a laptop or PC with a serial port/usb2serial convertor and use hyperterminal/putty to check if any data received. If no data received, then the problem is either the cable or the PABX not sending off data. Please follow up with your PABX vendor.

  • If the PABX is sending off call details and the TNG buffer is not sending it to TNG, then please check the forum post: My TNG buffer is not being detected

Refer to section "For TNG to detect the buffer, Windows must pick it up:" and sub section "You can also use hyperterminal / PABX3 to talk to the buffer".

See if you can talk to the buffer using the commands. This will show us if the buffer is receiving call details and if it can accept commands from the PC to send information. If this is successfull, follow the rest of the document of the link above.

NOTE: You need to stop the TNG service to talk to the buffer, else TNG will be locking the COMPORT.
