I cannot start the TNG service - marked for deletion

I uninstalled and re-installed TNG. I get error code 1072 and message service marked for deletion. Under services TNG is listed, but no Properties option. I do not have the option to stop or start the service. The tng.exe does exist in the default file location:
C:\Program Files\datatex\tng

This post is incomplete and still under investigation.

NOTE: If you uninstall/Re-install TNG you must use the required steps. You cannot delete the tng folder and re-install, as the tng service was then not uninstalled, etc. Please see: How do I re-install/move TNG?

Try the following:

• Restart the PC to see if it resolves the services marked for deletion error. If tng is no longer listed under services after restart, you can rename the TNG folder and install TNG again. If you require your historic data refer to forum post How do I re-install/move TNG? and section "The old TNG folder is still available."
