Please advise if it is possible for a global change whereby all extentions should be identified as business calls. Example Ext 2618 should be business, it is correctly a zero costed call. This will just make it neater and easier when reading reports for all private outbound calls.
Overview:
TES receives call details from the TNG's at the branches. The Telephone number will always be imported as private, to ensure that flagging of Bussiness/Private is done correct in TES. TES has the Number Identification feature, this allows individual users to flag the telephone number as private/business. Therefore there are no global option to import/update extension numbers dialed as business or telephone numbers. TES also does not have a telephone number import option, since TNG provides the telephone numbers. There is no option to add an individual phone number to the phone book (TNG provides all the telephone numbers), but there is an option to add a telephone number as your Private Number to the Phonebook(if not present already).
Suggestion:
- Treat all extension numbers dialed/received calls from as you would a telephone number. The users must identify the extension number that comes through as a telephone number just like all the other telephone numbers they receive via the Number Identification e-mail.
NOTE: If users ignored updating the extension numbers and you use the feature to delete unidentified numbers older than 3 days, the extension number will start to show up again next time it is dialed/call received on - it must be identified.
TES: How to delete unidentified numbers older than 3 days - It will be quicker to ask the individual users to identifiy the internal calls they made than to have one person update all. Since the number of extensions in the company is a 'fixed' number and in use daily, this should update all extension numbers within a day or 2.
If you want one person to update all, proceed as follows: Add all the extension numbers to that persons private numbers and tick them as business. If the extension number was not already on the Phonebook it will be added to it. NOTE: If you delete the extensions listed on your private numbers, you in fact delete the extension from the Phonebook.
