TNG: extension description vs user name/TES: user name

TNG:

• Extension
  You can link an extension description to an extension number.
  
  NOTE: You can link the same extension description to more than one extension number, for example extensions in the same department.
  
  
• User Name
  You can link a user name to a pin code.
  
  NOTE: You can only link the user name to one pin code. The assumption is that a user only has only one pin code. Pin code calls will typically only be for outgoing calls.

TES:

If you have TES (TNG Enterprise Server) at your head office, your extension number and user name/extension description will be sent to TES from the individual TNGs.

if you use a pin code, the user name associated to that call will be sent to TES. If no user name, then the extension description will be sent.

If no pin code was used, then the extension description(if configured) will be sent to TES

NOTE: In TES you will not see a pin code. You will have an extension number and a user name. The user name is update from either the extension description or user name in TNG as explained above.
