One may add multiple numbers in TNG by creating a comma separated file,
this can be done in MS Excel or Notepad for example. This file can then
be imported into the phonebook.
The format of the 'phonebook.txt' file should be as follows:
0847121234?,ABC Company,Suppliers,False
0824121234,Mr A Williams,Customers,False
0837411234,Nico Smith,Nicci Family,True
eof
Please Note:
The values are listed in the following order separated by commas.
Number (This is a compulsory field)
Description (This is a compulsory field)
Category ( for example Suppliers, Customers etc )
Private Call ( Values are either True or False )
The "eof" must be the last line in the file to inform TNG that the file is complete. TNG will not import the file if that entrie is not there. This allows automatic exports of large files to complete before TNG starts processing the file.
You do not have to add the country code infront of the number
Once you have completed the file, save it onto your PC. On the phonebook
page, you will see a button that reads 'Choose file', click on this button
and navigate to the file you created. Click on 'import phonebook'
to upload your file.
If you use Excell to create the file and then export it to comma delimited
csv. Make sure that you text file still have the leading zeroes.
TNG does not have maximum number of Phonebook entries. It is limited to the
file size of the Phonebook. TNG's resources is memory based, therefore within
this storage capacity will lie the limit to the Phonebook entries. Windows can
allocate up to 2gig per application.
Please find a detailed TNG installation and user’s guide in the help folder on your TNG CD.
