Not all my users are listed - please add user on call list

If it shows PLEASE ADD USER on the Call List page it means that TNG could not find the User Configuration for that Pin Code.

Please click on the 'User Configuration' page and check if all your user names are still configured here. This information is used linked the user name to the pin code.

If you have no pin codes configured or the page display is broken or the list does not show all the users you added, then the file could be damaged/corrupted. This can happen with power failure/PC being powered down without shutting it down, power dip/spike, etc. You will need to update this information again.

Steps to follow:

  • Stop the TNG service/deamon:

  • Once the service is stopped, navigate to

    • Windows:
      C:\Program Files\datatex\tng\data
    • Linux:
      /opt/datatex/tng/data
  • Create a backup folder, for example with day's date as folder name - '20120229'.

  • Move the 'tngusers.dat' and 'tngdept.dat' file into the backup folder. Do not copy it, move the file out of the data folder to the backup folder (Winodws - cut and paste).

  • Start the TNG service/deamon.

  • Log into TNG.

  • Click on Configure Users page. It will display a blank page.

  • Now you must enter/import the users and pin codes again.

You can create a file for this, see forum link: How do I import user names and pin codes into TNG?

If you have the file from a previous import, you can use the same file again. The import will move it to the processed folder of the day of import.

You can use the 'pinusers.txt' file as a backup of your user names and pin codes.

  • Once import is complete, click on Configure Users page. It will display the user names you imported.

  • Once user names has been update, go to the Call List page and check if new calls now have the name configured.

  • If so, you can update the user names to historic data:

TNG Home page, click on the SYNCHRONIZATION icon, tick Users and select the date range to update. Click on APPLY. Once done, it will display update successfull.
