Extractupdate.exe has stopped working.

Issue:

When I run the update 1.0.7.6 I get the error message

Extractupdate.exe has stopped working.


I am using Windows 7. The PC is not on the domain and is in the work-group. No user account control settings is in place.

I do not have the option to run as administrator.

Solution:

  • To ensure you are running the update as administrator:

    1. Open command prompt.
    2. It must show administrator on the top left-hand side of the black box. If it does not show 'administrator' then another user is logged in and you will not have administrator rights.
      Navigate to 'C:\Program Files\datatex\tng\update'.
      Enter the dtx update name and press enter to run it.

  • If you still get the same error message, try fhe following:

    Please unrar and save the file in the 'C:\Program Files\datatex\tng\update' folder:
    ExtractUpdate.rar

    Run the update again
