TNG slow: Settings to check

TNG explained:

  • In TNG there is a setting where you allocate a percentage of the available memory on TNG startup to TNG for call capacity. Note: If you have 3 GIG available on startup of TNG service and it is set to 50%, it will allocate 1.5 GIG for TNG. The available memory thereafter, which is 1.5 GIG, is used for operating your server aswell as for example pulling TNG reports.

The memory allocation is used to for call capacity - see forum link:
How many calls can my TNG handle?

  • Flush to disk:

The default setting is 60 seconds. TNG will write the call records currently in memory to disk every 60 seconds. You can change this to for example 120 seconds.
NOTE: Do not set this value to high (e.g. If you handle high call volumes and this is set above 120 seconds then TNG has to write the accumulated amount of records to the harddrive within the configured setting).

  • Scheduled Reports:

Set your scheduled reports to run outside office hours.

NOTE: Scheduled reports will complete one by one, before the next scheduled report will start. It will not run all at the same time, even if scheduled to.

  • Anti-Virus software/Malware.

Exclude TNG folder from live scan during the day.
Do a scheduled scan outside office hours.
NOTE: Virus scan can be configured on the local PC or via Company Policy. Ask IT to assist.

  • Network.

If data logged via network, do trouble shooting what can cause a delay between PABX and PC.

  • PC.

Check PC resources under Task Manager for MEMORY, CPU, etc. to see if any high usage and address.
