Disable TES update of calls from TNG to re-index database

Postby Belinda Frick » Fri Dec 05, 2014 9:41 am

TNG is collects the call details and
  • sends it live to TES,
  • and also writes the call details to file for upload via ftp to TES.

Both these processes must be stopped. If you re-create the database by importing raw.txt files again, it will create duplicate entries in TES.

When using the TNG option to import rawdata for 24 hours, TNG will continue to also import calls live into TNG. The live import of calls must also be stopped.

Steps:

Disable update of call details from TNG to TES.

  1. First stop the live import to calls.

Make of your settings and then change to use an option not available.

    • If you receive call details via serial, you can simply change it to network.

    • If you receive call details via network, you need to do the re-import out side office hours as there are no buffering for call details (unless the PABX handles it). Disable the feature in TNG under COMMUNICATION CONFIGURATION. Make notes of your settings to enable it again after re-import.

    • If you receive call details via input file, you can change the location and point to blank file. Disable the feature in TNG under COMMUNICATION CONFIGURATION. Make notes of your settings to enable it again after re-import.
  2. Log into TNG.

  3. Go to 'Live Export Settings' and change the 'TCP Client Port' to for example 12345.

  4. Click on APPLY Changes.

This will stop the live update of call details, the calls will still be created on disk to be sent to TES. This must also be stopped.

  5. The call details are written to files in the folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Datatex\tng\export

Once the import completed, you need to move these files to for example a backup folder
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Datatex\tng\export\backup-20141204

  6. You can now start the import of your rawdata.
See forum post: How do I import rawdata into TNG?

Enable update of call details from TNG to TES.

  7. Once the TNG database has been re-created, you need to enabled the following settings again:
    • Go to 'Live Export Settings' and change the 'TCP Client Port' back to 20003.
    • Enable live import of calls again(refer to step 1)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
