If you have a PABX with serial connection and the PC is down, the buffer will get power via pin 6.
The PABX send Power via pin 4 and 7. Either or both of these must be configured to be connnected to 6.
If the PC is on a UPS the buffer will get power until the UPS runs out. Please configure the PC to shutdown before the UPS runs out of power, else it is the same as a power failure and the PC might have damage. If the PC restores using the 'system restore point' feature you will loose the call details from system restore point until TNG starts receiving call details again.
The TNG UTMS buffer can store up to 3 000 call records, depending on string size. Once the buffer is full it will stop receiving call details and only receive again from the PABX once call details stored on the buffer has been sent off to TNG.
If the PABX buffers call details, once the buffer is powered it will receive these call details. The number of buffered call details depends on the PABX features.
If the buffer has no power, it will not loose the stored call details that was already on the buffer.
If call details is received from the PABX via network or file, then the buffer is not used to send call details to TNG:
- For network TNG connects direct to the PABX to receive call details. If the PABX has no buffering and the TNG PC is down you will loose call details.
- For file option TNG points to a folder to read the file in. If the PC for this file location is down and no buffering on the PBX, this call details can be lost.
