TNG Mitel Barring Service crash when adding exclusive number

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Oct 27, 2016 12:57 pm

Issue: My TNG Mitel Barring Service crashes when adding/changing an exclusive number. It runs on Windows 10.

This could be an access/restriction issue in Windows.

Check the following:

  1. TNG Mitel barring service is developed to runs as user SYSTEM.
Please check under task manager that the user is SYSTEM, else you might have access issue.

  2. Firewall
Ensure all TNG services are allowed under Firewall settings.

  3. Anti-virus/malware.
Ensure that TNG services are allowed and folders excluded from scanning.

  4. Create a file in the same folder as the tng mitel barring ini file.
Make a change to it and see if you have access to save it. If not, this is your issue.

  5. 32-bit application
The service is a 32-bit application that can run on a 64-bit system.
If the service uses over 2 GIG memory it can go into a state where it does not function correct.

Please set TNG as per forum post for TNG TMS memory allocation for settings: How many calls can my TNG handle?

Once set check under Task Manager if any memory resource issues.
Make a change to the Exclusive Numbers and monitor the memory usage.
If it crashes also check the Windows Event logs to help trouble shoot.

WORK-A-ROUND:

  1. Stop the TNG Mitel Barring service.
  2. Edit the ini to add/remove telephone numbers.
  3. Start the TNG Mitel Barring service.
  4. Make a test call
