ONYX 1.0.0.3 [working with analog line recording]

ONYX can now record with either a USB cable or
MONO cable (datatex analogue line tap or the usb
phone tap):

You can change the way ONYX records in its
.INI file.

(In the ONYX folder e.g. "C:\Program Files\Datatex\Onyx")

Two new entries:

***
STEREO=0
DEVICE=0 - (Only applicable to MONO)
***

STEREO:

If you are using the USB cable
(meaning if you plug the tap into
the USB port) STEREO should be set to => 1.

Else MONO => 0 (if you use the soundcard)
[teletap plugged into the (usually) pink
microphone port]

DEVICE:

DEVICE could be 0, 1, 2...
(depending on the sound device number)

On most PCs the sound device number is 0.

Do the following to check if your sound
device number is correct:

You can test whether you have selected
the correct setting by saving the INI
file, and opening ONYX. If the incorrect
value was entered either an error will
display or ONYX will not record. If this
is the case, try setting it to another value.
