Onyx with a Analog line recording tap

Postby Belinda Frick » Mon Dec 13, 2010 10:19 am

OVERVIEW:

If you require recordings on a speaker phone (analog phone) or cordless phone (on an analog line), you need the analog tap. The conversation is recorded directly from the analog line.

The analog tap must be connected to the jack of the analog line.

If you record a digital phone with an analog tap, you can get recordings soft on the agent side.

REQUIREMENTS

1.) ONYX version 1.2.0.4 or higher.
2.) USB tap from Datatex (Analog line tap): To check if it is an analog tap, see the serial number - it
must have a 'L' in it.
3.) RJ9 to RJ11 1.8 m cable (supplied by Datatex)
4.) RJ9 to RJ11 short cable (supplied by Datatex)
5.) We can only tap an analog line.

CONNECTION

We will be tapping the phone line, not the phone.

1.) The wall socket is a RJ11 and it is connected to the base of the phone with a RJ11. Unplug the RJ11 from the phone and wall, use the 1.8m cable that is supplied with the USB tap to connect the wall socket with the tap.

2.) Use the supplied RJ9 to RJ11 to connect the base of the phone and the tap.

SETTINGS

Go to the settings screen and set the 'Start Recording' on (Trigger) setting to ear.
Change the 'Mix type' setting to 'adaptive'.
Save settings and make a test call.
