My ONYX2 display is out of sync

  • This can happen if for example your icons is to big and thus does not fit onto the ONYX popup screen. Please check the DPI settings for your screencards or if icons is set to be on large.

    Change to default settings or standard size.

  • It could also happen if the front end crashes.

    ONYX consist of the recording software (runs as a service) and the user interface(runs as an application).

    • 'OnyxRecordingCore.exe.' is the service making the recordings.
    • The 'ONYX.exe' is the ONYX interface you use for configuration, etc.(righ-click on the icon in the bottom right-hand corner and select show to access it).

    Even if 'ONYX.exe' is closed, then the 'OnyxRecordingCore' service is still running and making recordings.

    Suggestion:

    Close the ONYX interface and stop the ONYXRecordingCore service. Check under Task Manger that both is not running and then start the ONYXRecordingCore service again.

    Now open the ONYX interface and check if the display has been corrected. If not, it must be a display setting in Windows.

  • To ensure all know issues has been address, use the latest version of ONYX. As of 20120320 it is 2.0.1.15:

    onx-onyx-upgrade-install-2_0_1_15-password.rar

    Unrar, password is 'datatex'.
    Run exe, it will stop the ONYX service, update ONYX and start the service.
