I am using ONYX 2.0.1.13 in manual start/stop recording mode. I can search for recordings, but cannot play them back.
Why does this happen?
- This error occurs when the ‘record’ button is clicked while the ‘wrap-up time’ of the previous recording is still counting down.
This causes the Onyx software to get stuck and you will not able to create or listen to new recordings. - The software appears to be recording but when one goes to listen to the recording, it opens the playback window but there is no playback. The call was not recorded.
This has been identified as a bug and will be addressed in a later version of the software. - To get ONYX out of the 'stuck' mode, the software must be restarted. Once the ONYX service has been restarted you will still be able to record your telephonic conversations using the current ONYX software version.
Please follow these steps:
- Navigate to Start – Control Panel – Administrative Tools – Services,
- Stop the Onyx recording core service,
- Wait a few seconds and start the service.
Once started up, the Onyx software will now be able to record again.
NB: Please remember not to click ‘record’ while the software is busy with the wrap-up time. This will cause ONYX to enter the 'stuck' mode again.
