NOTE: In WINDOWS a different application than ONYX can have focus, therefore the screen is not visible, but in fact it is in the background. If you minimize all other applications, you will then see the ONYX screen.
To give ONYX focus:
- Manually:
Click on the ONYX icon (blue telephone in the right-hand bottom corner of your screen). Now ONYX will have focus and the recording screen will appear. - Automatic:
- Windows has preference settings. Software can be configured to have focus. The configured software will have focus and other applications be in the backround.
- Software can also be configured to always take preference. This will depend on the applications you run and can influence ONYX having focus. To allow ONYX to have preference you will need to configure the other software to not have focus, please contact their support channels.
These automatic settings can override the ONYX settings. You will need to contact your Windows and/or support for specific software regarding which application has focus. - Windows has preference settings. Software can be configured to have focus. The configured software will have focus and other applications be in the backround.
NOTE:
- When the ONYX service is set to startup mode as automatic(delayed startup), it has been noted that ONYX does not always popup when a recording starts. This configuration is done:
START -> CONTROL PANEL -> ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS -> SERVICES,
click on ONYX and then 'Properties':
You will need to change it from 'Automatic(Delayed Start)' to 'Automatic'.
