How do I enable Ruby's watchdog?

The watchdog is built-in to the TAPI interface. It monitors the TAPI connection
for periods of inactivity when there should be calls. If there appears to be a
problem, the watchdog will send an e-mail to a supervisor or manager.

On the TAPI interface configuration, click on the Watchdog tab.

Monitor section
You can leave "Device" blank.

Enter your working hours in "Working hours", and the timeout period in minutes
in "Timeout". If you expect calls 24 hours a day, leave "Working hours" blank.

E-mail section
You need to enter the e-mail details. By "SMTP Server", enter the host name or IP
address of the SMTP server. "Port" is the port of the STMP server, which is
typically 25.

If your SMTP server requires authentication, enter the account and password.
Some SMTP servers require that "Account" be filled in; just enter the name of
the PC the watchdog is running on.

Enter ruby@yourdomain (e.g. ruby@datatex.co.za) for the "From" address, and the
e-mail address of the supervisor or manager in the "To" address.

If you enter 30 minutes for timeout, and you work from 9 to 5, I recommend that
you enter 9:15-16:45 for working hours. This avoids e-mails when there are no
calls at the start or end of your working day.
