If you're using PCBoards, get:
- the extension,
- IP address,
- Computer name
- and Windows login name for each agent
before you do anything else.
Upgrading Topaz
Close Topaz
Run the Topaz Update
Start Topaz up again
Go to Setup -> Properties -> Network and Front Office
Tick the Ruby Server
Go to Data -> Extensions
Find Each Extension that you want to monitor for Ruby and tick the
Ruby Extension tick box.
Upgrading the Ruby server
Close the Ruby server
Make a backup of the Ruby database
Run the Ruby 2.3 server upgrade: Ruby2.Server.Upgrade
In folder C:\Program Files\Datatex\Ruby2\
Run the RubyUpgr utility
Click on the upgrade button to upgrade the database.
Errors here can be because of a damaged database.
Contact Datatex if you have any problems with the upgrade.
Open the Ruby server
Click on Configure
If your agents have fixed seats (no hot seats), make sure that the
default extension is correct for each agent under the Agent configuration.
If your agents can move around (hot seats), make sure that the
Extension IP list is correct. Enter the names of the machines under
IP address and the telephone extension next to it. Make sure to leave
the default extension blank for each agent.
If you use PCBoards:
Make sure that "Use Sessions" is enabled on the Ruby tab
Enter the Windows login of each PC in the login field under the
Agent configuration. This code must be unique to each user and entered
exactly as Windows uses it (including spaces, but case doesn't matter).
Restart the Ruby server. You may have to restart the Ruby server
if you make changes to the Agent configuration
Check the Ruby log for error messages
Upgrading the Ruby Supervisor
Close any open Ruby Supervisor applications
Run the Ruby Supervisor upgrade
Upgrading PABX3 (on LG PABXs)
Run the LG GDK and LG ACD installer
Change the PABX3 to use the new ACDLG2_3 plugin
Upgrading TAPI interfaces (on non-LG PABXs)
Run the RubyTAPI upgrade
Make sure that all the extensions are in the monitored device list
on the Extensions tab
Add any queue devices along with their group on the Queue tab
Upgrading PCBoards
Close any open PCBoards
Delete the old PCBoard folder
Run the PCBoard installer
Make sure that there is only one PCBoard shortcut in the Startup group
in the Start Menu
Login to the correct group
Make sure that the Autologin is true if your agents need to be logged
in all the time or false if your agents do other tasks while on the phone.
Upgrading Wallboard interfaces
Close any open wallboard interfaces
Get the wallboard settings from the existing INI file (group, COM port,
data fields)
Delete or rename the INI file
Run the Wallboard upgrade, making sure to install to the same folder
as the existing wallboard
Error messages in the Ruby log file
Error: Could not find agent on extension nnnn
Cause:
Ruby could not find the agent code associated with this extension.
Make sure that the default extension in the agent configuration is correct.
Error: Could not find agent for login xxxxxxxx
Cause:
Ruby could not find the agent code associated with this login. The
agent information for this login is incorrect.
