Overview of installation process:

Install PANASONIC TSP, get it to receive data before proceeding.
Install DTP.
Install and configure RUBYtapi.
Once the RUBYTAPI is receiving data, proceed with installing the RUBY call centre
management software.

1. Install the TSP for Panasonic KXTD:

PLEASE NOTE: First get the panasonic TSP to receive data before proceeding with the
installation.

You will find the TSP for Panasonic on the Topaz CD under UTILS -> tspinst172.exe, or
on the internet [www.datatex.co.za-> support -> Login -> 3rd-Party ->Panasonic ->
Panasonic TSP -> KXTD TSP]

Click on [START -> SETTINGS -> CONTROL PANEL -> PHONE AND MODEM OPTIONS]
Under the ADVANCED tab the Panasonic KX-TD TSP will be shown,
double-click on it.
Enter the COM port number.
Do not tick "validate".
You might have to restart the computer to save this setting.

To test if the TSP is working, run the Monitor program from the EXTRAS folder on the Topaz CD.
click on the 'Build' button and click on 'OK' on the message boxes that pops up.
If your TSP is functioning correctly a list of all the extensions and lines should appear in
the window at the top of the screen. Now you can proceed. If it isn't working, the incorrect
port might be selected or another program might have the comport open, for instance the PABX3.
Try to reboot the computer, wait 1 minute and try the monitor test again.

Use the monitor program to check that DTP is receiving call data. Once the Panasonic TSP is
receiving data, start installing the Datatex software.

2.Install DTP:

See document:How to install and configure DTP for the Panasonic KXTD.

3. Install and configure RUBY TAPI:

Run the RUBY TAPI install available on our website in the member area, [www.datatex.co.za->
support -> Login -> RUBY -> RUBY Tapi interface.]

Configure RUBY TAPI(Log File: C:\Program Files\Datatex\RUBY2\logs)

Open the RUBY TAPI inetrface, click on the'RUBY'tab.
Enter ther host - (The host name or IP address of the Ruby server).
Enter the port number - (The port which Ruby is using (default 20000).
Tick the 'Send login info' tick box - (This sends login/logout data to Ruby).
Tick the 'Send queue info' tick box - (This sends queue data to Ruby).
By the 'PABX'dropdown menu, select 'PANASONIC KXTD'
Select the logging level, this can be set to 'errors only', 'debug' or 'None'.
If 'Enable wrap up time' is enabled this means that RUBY will enable DND (Do not Disturb)
for that extension after a call finishes. This gives the agent time to finish any
administrativetasks relating to the call. The duration is entered in seconds.

Now proceed to the 'Extensions'tab.

By 'Number of digits' enter the length of the extension numbers.
The TAPI devices 'Available' list, shows all the extensions available for monitoring.
If there are no devices in this list, it means that the PANASONIC TSP is not configured correctly,
please check the configuration before proceeding.
To select a TAPI device for monitoring, click on it and then click on 'Add', this will move
it from the 'Available' list to the 'Monitored' list.

Proceed to the 'Queue' tab.

This section allows one to link groups to call centre queues. One can also
add a DID number if one is available.

Add - Use this to add a new group with queue device and optional DID
Modify - Use this to modify existing groups
Delete - Use this to delete groups. You must also remove the TAPI device
from the Monitored devices.

Proceed to the TOPAZ tab

Enter the TOPAZ host -(The host name or IP of the TOPAZ server)
Enter the TOPAZ port number -(The port which TOPAZ is using)
To send CLI to TOPAZ tick the 'Send CLI' tickbox.
