Modify agents in RUBY server does not update changes

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Dec 09, 2010 1:06 pm

Please use "Update Ruby" for the change to take effect. Otherwise Ruby may use its
own internal data and overwrite the changes when it shuts down.

There is a problem that all the agents are marked as logged out when you "Update Ruby".
They will have to log out and in again.

Required:

Ruby Configuration program
Config.exe, version 2.3.10.0 or newer
Ruby PCBoard
PCBoard.exe, version 2.3.7.5 or newer
Ruby server
Ruby.exe, version 2.3.10.1 or newer
Ruby Supervisor
Rubysup.exe, version 2.3.10.0 or newer

Steps to follow:

Close the PCBoards.
Close the RUBY Supervisor.
Close the RUBY server.

This will ensure that no connections is open to the RUBY database.

Open RUBY server.
Make sure that there are no open errors.
Check under "Connections" check that no PCBoard or Supervisor is accessing RUBY.

Click on "Configure".
Close RUBY server, leaving only the RUBY config program open.

Now we have only one connection open to the RUBY database.

Make the required changes to the agent, keeping in mind that the value for "Code",
which is the agent code, must be unique. If you change the group, you need to
do it next to "GROUP" aswell as for the "GroupId" in the white grid (which is
the PCBoard). Click on "OK".

If you do not change the 'PCBoard' section on the RUBY server then once the agent
opens the PCBoard it will update the PCBoard information to the RUBY database. This
will then have the effect of reverting the changes back to what it was previously.

Click on "Update RUBY".

Your changes should now take affect. No need to restart the server.

Open RUBY server, supervisor and PCBoards.
