PCBoard: changes made under "Configure" does not save

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Dec 09, 2010 1:14 pm

This is some sort of a network/access problem.

The PCBoard and RUBY must be on the same subnet. If not the
RUBYPCBoard icon will have a pink line (to and bottom). Ensure
that it can browse the network for RUBY.

See How to configure RUBY PCBoard.

In the PCBoard debug log, see example below
2008-02-28 11:53:01.312 -> GetHostInfo returned 192.168.15.67,
192.168.15.67 refers to the IP address of the PC that the PCBoard is
running on. Ensure that RUBY server is on the same subnet.

When using an alias on the RUBY server, it must be on the same
subnet. In general the RUBY server should not have aliasses. If not
neccessary, please remove.

The following ports must be available for RUBY to function:
Ruby PCBoard UDP listen port, 20003, UDP
Ruby Supervisor UDP listen port, 20001, UDP
RUBY server, 20000

Ensure that the firewall does allow this.

Try the following:
Close the PCBoard in question. Use the "Config" in RUBY server
to configure the PCBoard settings.

Also check that the Windows login for the PCBoard in question
is entered correct for that agent.

When the PCBoard starts, it will send the login name to Ruby and
so link the agent to the correct user on the PC.

See How to configure RUBY PCBoard.
See RUBY2: We do not have virtual extension, but agens use different PC's and phones

Try doing a "traceroute" in Windows(tracert) from the PCBoard to the
RUBY server. This will show the route it is taking via the
network to and from the PC to the server. Use this to figure out
where the problem is.

Remember that "ping" and broadcasting uses different network protocol.

If the PCBoard icon displays pink. Check if anti-virus software
is not blocking the communication between the PCBoard and RUBY.

Under investigation!
