My RUBY report shows 'Network Traffic Time'

Postby John Richard Procter » Mon Aug 22, 2011 12:02 pm

My RUBY report shows 'Network Traffic Time' on the list of applications.

Please check the following

  • The application usage information comes from the PC boards, it uses the windows login of the agent
configured in "Agent Configuration" of RUBY server to get the information.

What happens is the following:
When the application information is sent from the PCboard to the server, everytime an
instruction is received, the difference of the date and time between each instruction
is calculated. This difference is then rounded to the closest second. This means there
is a small discrepancy that starts building up. This discrepancy is accumulated as
Network traffic time.

There should not be a lot of Network time unless one of the following occurs:

    • You swap between applications excessively.
    • The PCBoard is killed and then started at a later time.
(Restarts should not effect it, but a reset will)
    • Network connectivity is lost while still working on the PC.

PLESE NOTEIf there is only Network traffic time displayed on the reports and no applications this is because the
connection between the PCboard and the server is lost or the windows login configured for the agent in
AGENT configuration is incorrect.
