Changes for PCBoard version 2.2.0.0

Postby Belinda Frick » Tue Dec 07, 2010 10:26 am

New features:

Blinking icon on the system tray when a message is received
Option to automatically pop up when message is received
Window location is now saved and loaded on startup
INI file instead of config file

The new PCBoard can be installed over the old one, and will create its INI file
automatically when it closes. It will then continue to use the INI file; you
can safely delete the old Config.txt or PCBoard.txt file.

Like PCBoard version 2.1, it can only be used with Ruby server 2.1 and later.

Blinking icon
The PCBoard will now blink on the system tray when a message is received, and
will continue to blink until it is clicked.

It will no longer switch back to the data screen after a message is displayed.
You will have to click on the "screen 1" button to switch back to the data.

Automatic popup
The PCBoard can now be configured to "pop-up" when a message is received. It
will then be displayed over any other applications so the message can be read.

Window location
The location of the PCBoard window is now saved when the PCBoard closes. You
can move it out of the way of your normal working area, and it will always
start in the new location.

INI file
The PCBoard can now load its configuration from an INI file called PCBoard.ini,
which should be located in the same folder as the PCBoard. The format of the
INI file is similar to the following:

[RUBY]
Server=127.0.0.1
Port=20000
GroupID=1
GroupName=Group 1

[PCBOARD]
WinTop=0
WinLeft=563
AutoShow=0

Server is the IP address or host name of the Ruby server.
Port is the port used to connect to the Ruby server. Default is 20000.
LocalPort is the port the PCBoard should initially listen on. Default is 20001.
GroupID is the number of the group you want to monitor.
GroupName is the name of the group, which is displayed on the PCBoard window.

WinTop and WinLeft are the top- and left-most positions of the PCBoard window.
You can enter -1 into WinLeft to force the PCBoard to recalculate the window
position so it fits against the right-hand side of the screen.
Autoshow is 1 when the PCBoard should pop-up, 0 if no pop-up is to be done.
Default is 0.
