I get "garbage" in VT100 in PABX3 or no data

Try the following:

Windows:

Ensure that only one PABX3 is running on the PC. PABX3 must be open
to receive data, unless you have a buffer, all your calls is lost
while PABX3 is not running.

Close PABX3. Make sure no PABX3 is running in the backround.
Open the PABX3 program again.
If you have multiple users under Windows, make sure only the
"TOPAZ" Windows users has PABX3 in the startup and that this user is
always logged in.
ALSO SEE: PABX3 is not receiving data
The PABX Unit:

The sending baudrate of the PABX Unit must match that
of the receiving baudrate (PC, or when using a buffer, the buffer).

The cable:

* Make sure of your pin configuration of your serial cable.

No Buffer:
the cable connecting the PABX unit and the PC.
When using a buffer:
cable between the PABX unit and the Buffer,
and the cable between the Buffer and the PC.
* Make sure the cable is in the right comport.
* Make sure the right comport is selected.
* Check the pinouts on the cable.
* Check that one of the wires did not go loose at
the connection point.
* Try connecting the cable to another comport.
* Try connecting the cable to another pc and then checking
it with Hyperterm or loading Pabx3 and checking it with
VT100.

Buffer:

Remove the buffer and connect the PABX Unit with the PC.
Get the data to come through without the buffer. Once it
is working, then connect the buffer again.

The Buffer must receive the data at the baudrate that the
PABX Unit is sending it, and send it at the baudrate that the
comport of the PC is receiving it.

The Comport of your PC:

If there was a power failure, it is possible that
the comport is damages. If the PC has another comport try
that comport.

[PABX3 -> OPTIONS -> COMMUNICATIONS -> Comport],
select the correct port number. If it is not on the drop-down
list, you can simply enter it.

The Comport settings of your PC:

The following settings can vary from one PABX to another:

Baud Rate
Length
Parity
Stop Bits
Set the com settings under [Options -> Communications]
and not under Buffer Settings II in VT100.
