Receiving the call data from the PABX:
Solution 1: (no network)
We can use the input file setup to import the call data into
TOPAZ. To do this, the rawdata must be saved to the harddrive
of the PC at the main site (PC where PABX3 is running on).
You will require 3rd Party Software to do so. Contact your
suppliers for support on their products.
In this example we are using the following:
Modem buffer from Sue Sound: SS40.
www.suesound.co.za -> Products -> Databuffers -> SS40,
download user manual for installation instructions.
Modem from Duxbury: standard 56K modem.
(Not supplied by Datatex).
Sue Sound Data Buffer Logging Software: Modemlog2.
www.suesound.co.za -> Downloads -> Telephone Management Software,
select SS-40 Modemlog1.38 to download the Modemlog2_138.exe program.
You will require a login to enable the download option.
Setup:
Site Configuration and Setup:
Please contact your IT Department and Suppliers to assist you
with the site configuration and setup.
Connect the modem buffer to the PABX (remote site).
Connect the modem to the TOPAZ PC (main site) and set it to
auto-answer.
To capture the data and write it to a file for PABX3 to
import, you require third party software. Sue Sound has the
software to write the data via the serial port to the hard-drive.
The software will write the file out to a folder named the same
as the modem name (ID folder).
The Windows user on the PABX3 PC must have read and write
access. PABX3 needs access to the file that the modemlog2 is
writing out, otherwise it cannot import the file. Make sure the
software does not lock the input file. Make sure that no soft-
ware is blocking PABX3 (virus software of a fire wall).
Datatex Software:
Once the file is written to the harddrive on the PC PABX3 is
running on, we can proceed with the Datatex Software setup.
Setup PABX3 to read an input file. The input file name
and path can be specified in PABX3. Make sure it matches the setup
in the Sue Sound Software.

Solution 2: (network - LANBUFFER)
If no PC is available to received data from the PABX, connect the PABX to the lanbuffer.
Use the TCP connect setup in PABX3 to receive the call data from the buffer.
Setup:
Site Configuration and Setup:
Please contact your IT Department and Suppliers to assist you
with the site configuration and setup.
Connect the LanBuffer to the PABX.
Connect the LanBuffer to the network.
Datatex Software: Settings under PABX3
Goto [PABX3 -> OPTIONS -> NETWORK]
tick "Enable Network"
enter the "listen port" (Default: 25001)
enter the TOPAZ IP and port (Default: 127.0.0.1 and 25000)
tick "Enable TCP connect"
(This following information should be available
from the Network Technician)
enter the IP address of the LanBuffer
enter the port number that the LanBuffer is listening on.
(In some cases a single command or password has to
be given on the initial connection. If so do the following as well)
enter the password or command in the password box.
If you are using a buffer and the buffer needs a command to start
sending off data, enter this command in the password box.
Solution 3: (network - Windows PC with PABX3)
If a PC is available to received data from the PABX, set PABX3 up to receive data from
the PABX. This is the same PABX3 setup as with any local area netwerk or standalone PC.
You can use a UTMS buffer between the PABX and the PABX3 PC. This is not compulsary, but
always suggested for cases where there is for example a power failure.
The data will be written to the local PC, C:\Program Files\Datatex\Pabx3\ in
the file pabx3.pip. The TOPAZ at the main site, must be setup to import the calls from
this location using the network file path to point to pabx.pip, for example \\TOPAZPC\PABX3\pabx.pip.
ALSO SEE: TOPAZ is not importing data from PABX3 via the network.
