Possible causes for PABX3 not receiving data (red circle)

Postby Belinda Frick » Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:28 am

Overview:

The red circle is displayed if no connection is made for by default
an hour.

Settings:

If PABX3 has not received data via the comport for 1 hour
it will display a red circle around the PABX3 icon.

You can change this setting in:

[PABX3 -> COMMUNICATIONS -> TIMEOUT]
default time is 60 minutes.

If you are using TCP listen, then you will not be connecting
to receive data, therefore after an hour you will get a red circle
around the PABX3.

To stop PABX3 from displaying the red circle around the PABX3 icon:

[PABX3 -> COMMUNICATIONS -> TIMEOUT]
set the time to zero minutes.
You need to use PABX3 3.3.3.9, ALSO SEE What is new in PABX3 3.3.3.9?
When using multiple-logins on the same PC, each time
a user logs in, the startup for that user is executed.
Therefore if a program is in the startup for all the user
who has a login on the PC, each time one of the users logs in,
it will perform the startup for that user. This will cause
more than one PABX3 to be opened.

XP:

START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> Right-click on Startup,
Select all users,
remove the pabx3 from the startup for all user.

Now only add pabx3 in the startup of the user who will be
using TOPAZ and ensure that the user is always logged in.

The PABX Unit:

The PABX is not sending data.
(The PABX technician has to check that the PABX unit is configured to send data)

There hasn't been any calls made or coming in for an hour.

The PABX3 Interface:

Select VT100, make a test call, put the phone down, the call data
should appear on the VT100 screen. If not please check:

The PABX interface is no longer connected to the PABX Interface.
(Check the cables if it is connected)

The PABX Interface has been configured on an incorrect COM port.
(Check that the PABX is connected to the port configured)

The Buffer:

The buffer isn't sending data through anymore. ( After a power failure
this might happen)

If you are using a buffer, check that it is working.
Try to Change the Time out on the PABX interface's Setup screen from
60 minutes to 120 or 180 minutes.
