How do I import rawdata.txt into Topaz?

NOTE: If you use RUBY:
You need to disable the live update else you will have duplicate data. Click on the TIMER OFF button.
Do the re-import outside office hours, else you live RUBY stats will not update.

Overview:

The rawdata.txt must be changed into the .pip file format for TOPAZ to be able to import it into the TOPAZ database. Therefore you can only import the rawdata.txt file from within the PABX3 program. Once it is in the pip file format TOPAZ requires, then you can import it into TOPAZ.

To see if you have rawdata to import, navigate to 'C:\Program Files\datatex\pabx3\Rawdata'. A file for each week of the year will be created.

If no rawdata file, then either :
  • PABX3 was not set to log rawdata or
  • the PABX did not send it off or
  • the PC was switched off or
  • the PABX3 program was not running.

Steps to follow:

  • To do this close TOPAZ.

  • Right-click on the white telephone (on the right-hand bottom corner of the screen), choose 'Show'.

Please note, if Ruby and Topaz are running together
remember to untick OPTIONS > NETWORKS > SEND CALL CENTRE DATA,
to prevent duplicate stats in Ruby. Also while SEND CALL CENTRE DATA
is unticked Ruby is not updated with the live data. Once
the import is complete tick SEND CALL CENTRE DATA again.

  • In PABX3, Click on Tools,Choose IMPORT RAWDATA.
    Select the rawdata.txt file,
    usually in C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\rawdata.txt
    or C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\rawdata\raw[ccyyww].txt,
    where cc=century, yy=year and ww=week.
    Click on Open.
This will create .pip files for Topaz to import.

  • Now open TOPAZ again.
Leave TOPAZ open, it will automatically import the .pip file,
or force the import. In TOPAZ choose SETUP -> PROPERTIES ->
Click on "Import Now". Select C:\Program Files\Datatex\PAX3\pabx.pip.

  • If the rawdata.txt file was archived all the previous data will be stored in
topaz.old. You can import this file by selecting it in PABX3, follow above
instructions. Note the size of the file, for import time.
