How do I use Call Guard?

Postby Belinda Frick » Thu Nov 25, 2010 1:15 pm

Due to problems with DTP on the Panasonic KX-TDA, Call Guard can not
be used. These problems should be resolved soon.

Things to remember

You have to disable the PABX account codes.
You now type account codes after the number, separated by a
hash. To dial Datatex, you would use 00215924033#7777 assuming
you dial 0 to pick up a line, and your account is 7777.
You cannot use PABX3, and must use DTP to get SMDR data.
DTP must be configured to calculate account codes from the numbers.
Topaz must be set up with budgeting on account codes.
If Call Guard is closed, it will NOT cut calls, and anybody will
be allowed to dial without an account code. Make sure that Call Guard
is running all the time.

Read this if you have problems
If you find that Call Guard is cutting off your calls too soon (before
you can finish typing the account code), close Call Guard and edit your
CallGuard.INI file.

In the section [LINEDELAYS], we can specify how long Call Guard must
wait before cutting the call. The time is specified in seconds.

For example, a client has 4 analogue trunks and 4 ISDN trunks, and the
ISDN trunks are numbered 5,6,7, and 8. The [LINEDELAYS] section will
look like this:

[LINEDELAYS]
5=10
6=10
7=10
8=10

Call Guard will now wait 10 seconds before cutting calls on these trunks, but
will immediately cut calls on trunks 1,2,3, and 4. 10 seconds is just an
example, you will have to check what delays are best.

Things to remember if you use delays

Cellphone numbers take longer to connect.
Telkom numbers (1026,101999,etc.) connect quickly; don't use them for testing.
ISDN trunks connect quickly. Use delays on them.
