Routing of 2-digit line in TOPAZ

Postby Belinda Frick » Mon Nov 29, 2010 8:35 am

Overview:

The routing table only routes calls on lines with 3 digits and more.

To cost your calls on the 2-digit line:

Required:

Panasonic 1232 output in the following format:
Date Time Ext CO Dial Number Duration Acc code CD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01/07/05 03:39PM 101 11 0319036507 00:00'25
01/07/05 03:40PM 203 11 0319036507 00:01'20 TR
01/07/05 03:41PM 207 03 0843417832 00:04'54
01/07/05 03:41PM 204 13 10 00:01'07
01/07/05 03:44PM 213 06 0119232400 00:03'06
01/07/05 03:44PM 207 03 0835573412 00:00'44

Use the Panansonic 1232 plugin,
PanasonicKXTD1232.dll, version 2004.3.29.3 or newer.

Information needed:

All the routing line numbers.
The costing used on these lines
The telephone number your PABX uses for these routing calls,
on the Panasonic 1232 is usually is "10".

Procedure:

PABX3:

In [PABX3 -> GENERAL], "Discard calls were the number is less than ...".
Make sure this is set to "0".

This will ensure that all calls sent off by the PABX unit is
processed by PABX3 to import into TOPAZ.
TOPAZ:

In [TOPAZ -> Rates -> Prefix X-Ref table],
enter the telephone number and the costing code and a description:

Dial Prefix Rate Code Category Description
10 TELKOMA TELKOM A Routing Line

When testing this in [TOPAZ -> Rates -> Standards],
using "number" as 10 and "line" as blank, it will display:
Number=10 - Date=13/01/2005 - Time=09:42:42 - Duration=1:0 - Cost=R 0.56
Category=TELKOM A - Prefix=Routing Line - DialCode=10 - Rate=1
On the reports the "destination" will show "Routing Line", this is the
"description" you entered in the "Prefix X-Ref" table.

Now all calls with telephone number 10 (regardless of the line number)
will be costed at the rate specified in the "Prefix X-Ref" table.

To cost the different routing lines at different rates, you have
to enter them in the "routing table". Since we do not have the prefix
(072 or 083 ...), we must cost all calls on the line at the same rate.

In [TOPAZ -> Rates -> Routing Tables], enter your line
number and cost. In this example it is line=13 and costing=CELLROUTSECV2.

RatePrefix Line UsePrefix Description
13 CELLROUTSECV2 Routing Line 13

This will cost all calls on line 13 at the rate CELLROUTSECV2.

When testing this in [TOPAZ -> Rates -> Standards],
using "number" as 10 and "line" as 13, it will display:
Number=10 - Date=13/01/2005 - Time=11:38:27 - Duration=1:0 - Cost=R 1.50 -
Category=CELLROUTSECV2 - Prefix=CELLULAR ROUTER TO VODACOM [VODACOM 500] -
DialCode=CELLROUTSECV2 - Rate=1

All calls since the change has been made, will now be costed
at the rate it was set up to cost. In this example the costing rate
is CELLROUTSECV2.

All calls costed before this entry was made, have to be re-costed
in [TOPAZ -> Setup -> Properties -> Rates], click on "Re-cost calls" and
enter the date from when. Please note that the "destination" will still
show the incorrect description, but the costing will be correct.

If your calls were reflected as "LOCAL", you will have to delete these
calls and import the pip files to retrieve your calls and to cost them
with the rate your specified.

ALSO SEE: How to import pip files.

*** Remember: Each time a load rates is done,
*** you have to make this entry in the Prefix X-Ref table again ***
