Check the following:
The Buffer:
In [PABX3 -> TOOLS -> VT100]
UTms buffer doesn't send data once it is full.
Baudrate:
Set the PABX baud rate: "SB " followed by enter.
Set the PC baud rate: "SP " followed by enter.
System information: "SYS" followed by enter.
PABX3:
End of line character:
In [PABX3 -> OPTIONS -> COMMUNICATIONS], EolChar
Standard EolChar is "10".
Pin Configurations of the cables:
The fact that data is being sent from the PABX unit to the
comport of the PC, when the 2 cables are plugged into each
other does not mean that the cables are configured correctly.
The Buffer pin connection might still differ from the cable
configuration, please check the following:
PABX Side of Buffer Connection:
Pin Pin Description 2 Receive from PABX 3 Transmit 7&4 Handshake to PABX 5 Common 'Ground' signal 6 & 8 Handshake from PABX
PC Side of Buffer Connection:
Std 9-pin serial cable, male to female.
Pin Pin Description 2 Transmit to PC 3 Receive from PC 4 Handshake from PC 5 Ground 7 Power (to pin 7 on PC)
If all configuration is setup correct and you still do not
receive data:
Reset the buffer:
[PABX3 -> TOOLS -> VT100], type "CLEAR " followed by enter.
Re-boot the PC
This will ensure that all changes to settings is picked up by
the software and the software is running with those settings.
