If a second PABX3 is opened, it will try to open the same
comport again and then no call details will be received.
When will PABX3 startup?:
PABX3 will startup if the PC is re-booted and PABX3
is in the startup folder.
You can manually start PABX3.
If PABX3 is in the startup for ALL USER and you switch
between users it will open another instance of the program.
When using multiple-logins on the same PC, each time
a user logs in, the startup for that user is executed.
Therefore if a program is in the startup for all the user
who has a login on the PC, each time one of the users logs in,
it will perform the startup for that user. This will cause
more than one PABX3 to be opened.
XP:
START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> Right-click on Startup,
Select all users,
remove the pabx3 from the startup for all user.
Now only add pabx3 in the startup of the user who will be
using TOPAZ and ensure that the user is always logged in.
Windows has known issues where the icon on the system
tray crashes. The application is still running when you
check on the Windows Task list, but no icon is displayed.
If you were to open PABX3 again without stopping the one
already running, you will have multiple PABX3s open.
There might be entries under Windows Events to list this.
There are also applications available that can be used
to schedule programs to be started up (non-Datatex software).
If you use it, please make sure it is not configured to
startup if PABX3 is still running.
Note: Use PABX3 version 3.3.3.9
Every time you open PABX3 it will log:
2009-02-23 12:44:42.953 [3.3.3.9]Starting PABX3...
Every time you close PABX3 it will log:
2009-03-02 11:56:26.593 [3.3.3.9]Closing PABX3...
2009-03-02 11:56:26.606 [3.3.3.9]Disconnect Ports
By closing one PABX3, the multiple PABX3 instances is still
runnig. Best is to close all and startup one.
If PABX3 is open and you use the comport option and
you open it for a second time, it will log:
2009-02-23 16:18:25.840 [3.3.3.9]Starting PABX3...
2009-02-23 16:18:25.856 [3.3.3.9]ReadProfile ->ERROR Opening UDP Port=[25001] -> Could not bind socket. Address and port are already in use.
2009-02-23 16:18:25.856 [3.3.3.9]OpenComPort ->ERROR Opening COM port ->ie_Open - device already open
This means that a second PABX3 has been opened or another program
is trying to access the same comport PABX3 is configured for:
ERROR Opening COM port ->ie_Open - device already open
If you have a "Starting PABX3" entry without
a "Closing PABX3" entry, followed by "Starting PABX3" then
you have multiple PABX3s open.
