- Extensions (Topaz Budgeting)

Extensions are barred. (no account codes at all)
Extensions are linked to Users.
TOPAZ bars the user's extension when the user exceeds

Extensions are barred.
Account codes are linked to Users.
If you exceed your budget facility, and you dial from any
extension with your account code, TOPAZ will bar the dialing extension.

extension must then be unbarred before another call can
be made. - Callguard Account Codes (Topaz Budgeting)

C: HOW TO INSTALL DTP ON A PANASONIC KX-TD:
- About DTP:
What is DTP?
Datatex TAPI interface for PANASONIC.
DTP is a TAPI application which retrieves the SMDR/CIL data from the
Panasonic range of PABXs. It replaces the PABX3 interface.
What are the requirements for DTP?
You need a PC to run DTP on, which has an RS232 connection to the PABX.
The PC should be as close as possible to the PABX. The Panasonic TSP
must be installed and configured correctly.
What is DTP used for?
DTP provides SMDR/CIL data for TOPAZ. Using TAPI allows other TAPI
applications to communicate with the PABX at the same time, which is not
possible to do with PABX3. Other features include setting the
Class of Service (COS) for extensions, allowing the BARRING OF CALLS.
It can also be configured to send CLI information to TOPAZ for popups,
or to calculate unanswered calls and ring times on the Panasonic PABXs
which do not have this functionality. - Installing DTP:
On the TOPAZ CD -> DTP you will find a self-extractable file called
eml-dtp-install-1_2_8_4.exe . Run it on the PC you wish to
install it on. Its default path is C:\Program Files\Datatex\DTP - DTP Setup:
- Run DTP.
- Right-click on the DTP icon in the IconTray and select Show.
- A screen will popup with a few fields (date, time, ext, number, etc).
Select Interface to enter the Configuration menu. - Under Settings
- Set the length of the "extension digits" given by the PABX.
This is either 3 or 4 digit extensions. - Tick "Calculate ring times (for KXTD816 and KXTD1232)" if you are
using one of the two models. - Tick "Calculate unanswered"
- If your are using the firmware version 2.5 or higher, please
tick "Panasonic KXTD-500 V2-5".
- Under Account Codes
- "PABX provides account codes" must be selected
- Under Logging
- Log File: C:\Program Files\Datatex\DTP\dtp.log
- Log Level: Errors only
- Under ISDN
- Leave all empty if not used
- Under TOPAZ
- SMDR Enabled must be ticked
- Pipe File: C:\Program Files\Datatex\DTP\pabx.pip
- Network enabled must be ticked if you want live data to be sent to
TOPAZ - Host: 127.0.0.1 (Default for the current PC), or enter another IP
if TOPAZ is on a seperate PC - Port: 25000 (Default TOPAZ port)
- TOPAZ Setup:
Required: TOPAZ 1.7.0.7 or newer- Open TOPAZ.
- Go to SETUP->Properties->PABX
- Change the 'Pabx file update' path to
C:\Program Files\Datatex\DTP\pabx.pip - Tick 'Auto Load file'
- and set to every 60 minutes
Under SETUP->Properties->Network/Frontoffice, - Tick 'PABX 3 Interface' enable
- set PABX3 Interface port to 25001
- and the Host IP to either 127.0.0.1 (if on the same PC)
or to the IP of the PC DTP is installed on.
Note: DTP replaces PABX3. - Link the user to either the account code or the extension,
according to your barring option. [DATA -> USER]
NOTE: DTP has a 30 day trial period, thereafter it needs to
be licensed! - Registering DTP:
Open DTP.
Click on Interface -> Configure -> Register
Click on "Print Request".
Please fax the request form to Datatex at +27(21)592-4077
D: REASONS WHY BARRING IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY:
- The PABX is in programming mode. Some PABXs only allow one programmer
access at a time. - The barring levels that has been set in TOPAZ is not correctly configured
on the PABX. - TOPAZ has removed the restrictions on an extension.
- The DTP is not running.
- The PABX IP in TOPAZ is not configured to point to your DTP or PABX3.
- The TOPAZ must be open and the Timer ON.
