Datatex does not recommend this and Datatex does not support it! It is the technicians responsibility to make sure that when servicing the product, all default installation paths of updates etc are changed accordingly!
Install your Topaz on the C-drive.
Do the load rates and make sure Topaz works.
Once TOPAZ is working, copy the "C:\Program Files\Datatex" directory to your drive.
Make sure that you have access (Full Control) over the datatex folder on the new drive.
If you swopped drive C to be drive "X", you must install the BDE on the C drive.
Now you must change the filepaths for Topaz to work. Keep the directory names the same to avoid further confusion, since the drive is already not the standard TOPAZ drive. Herewith instruction:
Now for Topaz to run you must specify the new data file path or TOPAZ will still read data from "C:\Program Files\Datatex\Topaz\Data".
Shortcut:
Change your "shortcut" and "start in" on the Master TOPAZ to point to the new drive.
The TOPAZ ini file:
In C:\Program Files\Datatex\Topaz\Topaz.ini the file path must change to your new drive.
Open TOPAZ and change the following file paths:
1. SETUP>PROPERTIES>PABX> Pabx File Update for the .pip file
which is in "C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\pabx.pip"
2. SETUP>PROPERTIES>LOG FILE> for the log file
which is in "C:\Program Files\Datatex\Topaz\topaz.log"
In PABX3 change the following file paths:
1. OPTIONS>FILE PATHS> Pabx DLL
which is in "C:\Program Files\Datatex\Pabx3\profiles\lib\"
2. OPTIONS>FILE PATHS> Pip File
which is in "C:\Program Files\Datatex\pabx3\pabx.pip"
To setup the Client Topaz just point to the Master Topaz you already setup as you would normally do.
Installation of a client version of Topaz
