tblTran: No index for fields 'Date;Time;Extension

If you get the error "tblTran: No index for fields 'Date;Time;Extension'"
when starting Topaz, the index for the transaction table has been damaged
or deleted.

Topaz will not function correctly.

Close the Master TOPAZ and all Client TOPAZ's. Make sure no TOPAZ is
running in the background.

Your database file is damaged. We need to replace it with a blank
database file and import the call data again.

Make a backup of the old transaction table (tran.db, tran.px, tran.val) .
Rename the OLDPABXPip folder (located is C:\Program Files\Datatex\Topaz) to
for example oldpabxpip.ccyymmdd, where ccyymmdd is the date the rename is made on.

Get a copy of the BlankTran.exe (If you do not already have a copy):
  • Run it from the Topaz CD in the 'Extras' folder or
  • Download and unrar:
    BlankTran.rar
Run the BlankTran.exe and select "Yes to All" when prompted to overwrite files.

Move all the files in C:\program Files\Datatex\Topaz\OldPABXPip that you want to import again to a temporary directory.

Open Topaz and login as Admin.

Import the pip files again using Setup -> Properties -> PABX -> "Import now".
Navigate to the Temorary directory and select some of the files to import.
Repeat this step until the temorary folder is empty.

If you open TOPAZ and now get the same error message but for the Master.db file, then this file has also been corrupted. You need to blank it.

NOTE: Master file contains your telephone numbers and company and/or user name for it. This information will be lost. You have the option to import the telephone numbers, provided you have a telephone list on file. Refer to forum post: How to import telephone numbers into Topaz

Download and unrar:
blank-master-files.rar

You can also find the master file on the TOPAZ install CD in the folder 'data'.

NOTE:
  1. This rar file contains 6 files. File name is 'master' with different file extensions.
  2. Please check that the file are not read-only, else you cannot write any information to it.
