have the following information regarding this error:
BDE
- Make certain that any existing copy of the IDAPI32.CFG file
on the target system is not marked Read-Only. And that it is accessible. - Running an application that uses the BDE while installing another
copy of BDE. - The IDAPI configuration file on the target machine is corrupt.
Try to move the current installed BDE to another folder
and re-install the BDE.
Installshield:
According to InstallShield, this error commonly occurs if
there was a previous BDE installation and the following two registry
keys still exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\BLW32
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Borland\Database Engine
If these two keys exist in the registry, try deleting them and re-run
the installation.
