Requirements:
  • Topaz 1.7.5.4 or newer
  • PABX3 3.3.3.2 or newer
  • PABX3 Plugin for the LG GDK version 2005.8.18.0 or newer
  • Topaz Frontoffice Interface version 1.1.0.10 or newer
  • The LG GDK must have 2 serial ports available to use.
    (One for FrontOffice and one for PABX3)
  • A computer with 2 COM ports or 2 computers that are networked together.

    Download from our website, http://www.datatex.co.za:
  • TOPAZ: [downloads -> topaz -> software upgrades]
  • PABX3: [downloads -> topaz -> software upgrades]
  • PLUGIN: [member area -> login -> topaz -> plugins]
  • FRONT OFFICE: [member area -> login -> topaz]

Installation Istructions:

  • TOPAZ:
    • Install Topaz as a normal installation.
    • Make sure that your budgeting is setup and working.
      (When a call is made, that the budget is updated.)
    ALSO SEE: How to setup and use the Budget Facility in Topaz

  • FRONTOFFICE:
    • Make sure that the Frontoffice has a shortcut in the startup.
    • Go to Options -> General and select the LG 100 Communication format.
      (Restart the frontoffice after changing this option)
    • Enter your password that would be used to access the programming
      interface of the LG 100.
    • Go to Communications and un-tick "Acknowledge".
    • Make sure that the rest of the COM settings are correct.
    • Go to Network and enable the network and the listen on port is 25002.
    • Click on SAVE.

  • PABX3:
    • Go to Options -> Network and ensure that the Frontoffice option
      is enabled.
    • Frontoffice IP points to the computer where the Topaz Frontoffice
      is running.
    • Open the PABX.PRF (in the PABX3 folder) with Notepad and find the
      line marked as "[Accounts]". If it doesn't exist, you must added it
      at the bottom of the file.
    • Now below this section, you can add all
      your account codes in the following format:

[Accounts]
INDEX=ACCOUNT=CLASS_OF_SERVICE
3000=1234=1
4000=1111=8

The class of service is only used when the account code is added to
the PABX. A Default value of "1" can be placed as a place holder.
[This value is currently not used on a LG100] The Account code is
removed from the PABX when it is barred.

Usage:
When these features are all implemeneted correclty the Frontoffice
interface will be connected to the one comport of the PABX to
program the PABX. The PABX3 will be connected to another port on
the PABX to get the call records. The CIL data will be passed to
Topaz from PABX3. Topaz will update the budgets and once the budgets
are exceeded, Topaz will instruct the PABX3 to bar the extension
or account code. The PABX3 will generate the correct barring string,
based on the plugin and send it to the Frontoffice interface.
