I get an error "index out of date."

General:

This is normally caused by a power failure or PC being
switched off without shutting down or the program being
killed off. The error message will specified which file
has been damaged.

The name of the database file that is damaged will be
displayed in the error message, in this case it is master.db.
It can be anyone of the database files.

Try the following:

The following master files should be in 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\Topaz\Data'
    master.db
    master.MB
    master.PX
    master.VAL
    master.XGO
    master.YGO

If the master.db or the master.PX file are missing, you will have to recreate the master file.

You do this by:
  • Replace the damaged files with a blank data set by copying the above files from the [TOPAZ CD > DATA]
If you do not have a TOPAZ CD download and unrar:
    blank-master-files.rar

Save the files in the folder 'C:\Program Files\Datatex\Topaz\Data'.
  • Make sure that it is not read only.
  • Now you have a blank master file and need to get the data back.
All the call data is kept on the system in raw format.

If this is not the problem you will have to re-index the file.

Make a backup of the Topaz data folder before you start.
Try to re-index the file which is giving the error. In the example above, the problem is with master.db. You may find that there are errors in more than one file. Re-index each file that gives an error.
