- Create the number file:
Create a text file with the numbers in the following format:- Code: Select all
Number,Person,Company Name,Number Type
The Number Type is a P or a B relating to a Business or Private number.
If you use EXCEL to create the file,
save it as CSV (comma delimited).
NOTE: In Excell if your number column is in the wrong format it will remove the leading zero of your telephone number. Please check this before you proceed to import.
When you create the EXCEL file, select the column and change the format to 'TEXT'. Now enter the information required. Save the file as 'comma delimited CSV'. This will ensure that you have leading zeroes. You can check this by opening the csv file in a text editor. Text editor will not automatically format the content as when you open a file in EXCEL. NOTE: if you open the file you created in EXCEL after saving it as CSV, it will again remove the leading zeroes.
